Overview

In 1986, KMC began a partnership with the Japanese bicycle component company, Shimano; cooperating together, a relationship was created that continues to flourish to this day. In the 1990s KMC Chain had become one of the largest chain manufacturers and suppliers in the world. Currently, KMC produces 200,000,000 meters of chain per year and thanks to KMC's strong marketing network, sales reach over 130 countries around the world.

Around the World
KMC started by establishing two manufacturing facilities in Tainan, Taiwan. In 1989, global demand for chains had increased beyond these two facilities, and more manufacturing plants were established in China in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Tianjin and Chengdu. In 2001, KMC proactively developed its market in Southeast Asia with a production base in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Currently, KMC Group develops bicycle transmission parts, chains for automotive timing systems, motorcycle chains, industrial chains and
garage door opener chain & accessories, with more developments on the way.

To meet global demand, KMC maintains a total of 11 manufacturing facilities and 16 sales companies around the world, located in Taiwan, China, Holland, USA, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Total area of these facilities is over 573,300㎡ with KMC employing over 5500 employees. Automatic production and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes provide customers with the most professional, efficient and convenient service.
All facilities have passed ISO9002 and ISO9001; additionally, the Shenzhen Factory also obtained TSI6949 accreditation in 2004 for recognition of its outstanding ability to meet the high quality demand of the automobile industry.

In 2003, all facilities adopted the Toyota Production System, which represents the highest standards and regulations to enhance quality control. It is our ideology to meet all of our customers needs while providing the most efficient, optimal service at all times.
Strengthen Competitive Power
Since 1997, KMC has devoted itself to finding and cultivating the most talented R&D personnel. Furthermore, KMC focuses on expanding OEM, ODM and aftermarket business as well as establishing and maintaining the strategic alliance with suppliers and customers by means of integrating the supply chain and promoting customer value. Besides enhancement in production technology, KMC seeks continuous innovation and breakthroughs in production, factory management and marketing channels.

To pursue product innovation and the core competitiveness of sustainable management ,KMC forwards to pluralistic
research, development and production and entrance into the newly risen high-tech industry. The Wireless Technology Business Unit was established to design and produce wireless and radio frequency technology and make use of Blue Tooth products. Another unit is in charge of producing LED indicators and lights. The Electrical Transmission Business Unit researches and develops transportation power transmission systems. In 2008, Surmount Technology was established to manufacture and develop packing film products.
