[Design Awards] KMC Honored Again With iF Design and Taiwan Excellence Awards
Updated : 2015-01-29
KMC’s innovation has been proven once again by receiving the iF Design and Taiwan Excellence awards for its groundbreaking 2015 products: City Hunter and DLC Chain.
It’s a great honor for the City Hunter Chain to receive its third international design award; the new 2015 award from the prestigious iF organization is in addition to the 2014 Red Dot Design Award and 2014 Taipei Cycle d&i Award organized by iF. Considering the demands of public bike sharing programs, including cyclist behavior, heavy bicycle usage, and public bike station environments, KMC created the City Hunter Chain with unique oval-shaped outer plates and double X StretchProof Hollow Pins for improved transmission efficiency, comfort and chain strength; nickel outer plates and distinguishable orange-coated inner plates provide rust protection and reduce maintenance frequency while also enhancing rider safety thanks to increased visibility. You can also find KMC’s emphasis on aesthetics to complement product value. The color inner plates represent the extension of city aesthetics and are a unique symbol of urban green transportation.
In addition, KMC professional racing DLC Series Chain became a demonstration of Taiwan’s product merit by receiving the 2015 Taiwan Excellence Award. The prestigious Taiwan Excellence Award verifies the “Innovation Value” of five indicators: R&D, Design, Quality, Marketing, and Made in Taiwan. KMC DLC Chain is 100% made-in Taiwan and has incredible performance, the highest compatibility, the longest chain life, and easy installation and maintenance. DLC provides an unsurpassed cycling experience.
KMC DLC Chain is also acclaimed by renowned bicycle brands such as Specialized with their latest S-Works McLaren Tarmac Collection. They have chosen DLC chains to echo their cutting-edge “Tarmac Black”. Koga has used a unique DLC/Koga Blue color combination for their World Traveller 29 which won the 2014 Euro Bike Gold Prize Award. In addition, the 2015 Tour de France Team, Team MTN Qhubeka, and the Vuelta a Espana Team(winner of KOM 2014 Vuelta a Espana), Caja Rural – Seguros RGA, have both chosen DLC chains for the coming race season.
