【KMC Green Commitment】Green Circulation, Sustainable Progress

In 2025, KMC’s partnership with the international climate organization Justdiggit has already delivered concrete progress across multiple regions in Africa. Through nature-based solutions, the collaboration is restoring ecological cycles, cooling the planet, and bringing renewed hope for sustainability to local communities.

KMC × Justdiggit Creating Positive Impact Together

Through joint efforts, the land restoration initiatives supported by KMC achieved significant results in 2025, including:

• 60,500 trees successfully regrown (Target: 104,000 trees)
• 800 hectares of land restored (Target: 2,550 hectares)
• 2,660 local residents directly benefiting (Target: 8,630 residents)
• 11,600 tons CO₂e of sequestered carbon *(t = 20) (Target: 20,000 tons)
• 58,083,000 liters of water retained annually (Target: 99,758,000 liters)

These outcomes demonstrate that the regreening efforts supported by KMC have effectively improved soil moisture retention, vegetation recovery, and ecosystem resilience in drought-affected areas. They have also helped rural communities rebuild agricultural productivity and enhance overall quality of life—achieving meaningful positive impact in both environmental and social dimensions.

KMC believes that when ecosystems regain their natural vitality, the land can sustain itself, continuing to generate long-term value and resilience.

KMC Embeds Sustainability as Core Corporate DNA

Sustainability has long been at the heart of KMC’s corporate identity. The company invests substantial resources into developing low-carbon products and advancing its vision of a “green circular future.” Since joining the Bicycle Alliance for Sustainability (BAS) in 2022, KMC has fully aligned with the industry’s collective mission“ Cycling for a Better Future.”
KMC has committed to an annual 3% carbon reduction, with a clear target of achieving at least 25% reduction by 2030.

In recent years, KMC has continued implementing a wide range of carbon-reduction and circularity initiatives, including:

• Strengthening energy-efficient manufacturing and enhancing equipment performance
• Advancing wastewater reduction and resource-efficiency management
• Introducing recycled steel to reduce emissions from materials
• Actively procuring green electricity and increasing the share of renewable energy
• Fully adopting sustainable, recyclable packaging materials

While steadily achieving phased carbon-reduction milestones, KMC also improves environmental impact through product design—promoting longer-lasting, more durable chains and drivetrain systems to help reduce carbon footprints during the usage phase across the global cycling market.

With transparency and accountability, KMC continues to disclose its sustainability performance, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to a net-zero future to customers, partners, and society worldwide.

Sustainability in Daily Life

KMC actively supports the circular economy through real actions. In recent years, the company has used recycled-material products—such as eco-friendly coffee cups, multipurpose containers, and tote bags—as corporate gifts, hoping to promote the importance of “reducing single-use items” and “resource regeneration.”
