Sabine Spitz, the 3-time Olympic medal winner, continuously pursues perfection at each competition allowing her to win another medal in the European Championships Marathon and to be ranked No.1 in the latest UCI MTB Women Elite Category!

In Singen, European Championships where the leading group with Sabine Spitz (DE), Esther Süß (SUI) and Sally Bigham (UK) raced hard in rain and cold winds. Suffering from cold feet, Sabine could not follow the leaders in the steep uphill sections but successfully defended 3rd position in final.

A big surprise for Sabine’s teammate Kathrin Stirnemann: after the start she was not able to follow the leaders and found herself in the second chasing group. The longer the race lasted, the stronger Kathrin became. On the last 10 kms, she caught up with the chasing duo and immediately passed them. In the end, a 4th place finish was an unexpected triumph in this very tough championship.
